Our History

The North Harbour Mini Motocross Club was formed by a group of like-minded parents who wanted to provide a safe environment for children to gain exposure to dirt bike racing. The emphasis at the club is on fun and participation and while the club events are held as race days, participants are able to ride at their own pace without any pressure.

Rumour has it the first club meeting was held at the (then) empty section next to the Kaukapakapa pub. The club was officially formed as an incorporated society on 24th May 1999 with Greg Williams the first president.

The first KOTN was held at Andy Jacks property in 2001.

A committee comprising of parents, volunteer their time and efforts to ensure the club is successful in achieving its goals and welcome assistance from other parents to complete tasks like track set up and break down, starting and flag marshalling on race days and securing financial sponsorship etc...

We run events at a number of local farms around Waitoki, Puhoi and Kaukapakapa area which offer an alternate style of grass paddock racing. Over winter we use Leightons farm.

If you have or know of any suitable sites to hold an event please contact a member of the committee.

North Harbour Mini Motocross has been a fantastic club for our two children to get involved in fun racing. I love the friendly family atmosphere - the kids always have so much fun.
