Welcome

The North Harbour Mini Motocross Cross Club was formed by a group of like-minded parents who wanted to provide a safe environment for children, between the ages of 4 & 12 years, to gain exposure to dirt bike racing. The emphasis at the club is on fun and participation and while the club events are held as race days, participants are able to ride at their own pace without any pressure.

A committee comprising of parents, volunteer their time and efforts to ensure the club is successful in achieving its goals and welcome assistance from other parents to complete tasks like track set up and break down, starting and flag marshalling on race days and securing financial sponsorship etc...

We run events at a number of local farms around Waimauku, Kaukapakapa and South Head area which offer an alternate style of grass paddock racing.  If you have or know of any suitable sites to hold an event please contact a member of the committee.

New riders are welcome and are able to enter a maximum of two club events without a membership or competition license, provided that their  parent or legal guardian signs an indemnity before the rider takes part in an
event.

Membership

Club membership is a yearly fee of $45 for a single membership or $55 for a family membership.

Once the rider has club membership they are able to apply for a Motorcycling New Zealand (MNZ)competition license. This is required for all Mini competitors.

MNZ has an web site detailing the procedure for obtaining a racing licence. Existing previous/licence holders are able to apply online. All new licence applicants are required to complete a manual licence application and forward together with an original birth certificate, of the child applying to MNZ. The birth Certificate is then returned with the new licence. You can obtain more information on MNZ licences and pricing structure by clicking Here

If there is a delay with obtaining your MNZ licence you may purchase a day licence for $15 on race day. These are only available to children 8 years of age and over. Any rider under 8 years of age must have a full licence or they will not be able to ride in any event. A maximum of 4 day licences may be purchased in any one year. The cost of 2 day licences issued within the year can be credited off the full licence fee.

A full Mini License is essential for competing on club days and must be brought along to each event so they can be validated, this also applies to North Island & National championships events. A rider must compete in 6 club events before entering in a championship event.

Events are held every 2nd Sunday of the month dependent on weather. If a race day is postponed or rescheduled info relating to this can be gained by viewing the News section on this web site. For all race days we have an ambulance in attendance & safety marshals are positioned throughout the course. Parent participation is essential to help out with the marshalling & racing/riding will not commence until the marshals are in position.
